Careful what you tap out on your smartphone: new software could be watching. Using HD footage captured from up to 60 metres away, the screen-spy can track and align letters keyed in on a touchscreen phone.
The system exploits magnified letters on touchscreen keyboards to carry out its detective work. By deciphering the location of pop-up keys, it formulates a close match to the message. When displayed letters overlap, the solution makes an educated guess while giving the probability of its accuracy.
