John P. Holdren has a long list of favourite venues, including the British Museum in London, the American Museum of Natural History in New York, the Lawrence Hall of Science in Berkeley, California, and the Boston Museum of Science. But at the very top is the Smithsonian National Museum of American History in Washington DC. What sets it apart, he says, is "its remarkably eclectic and evocative exhibits covering the co-evolution of the scientific, technological, economic, social and cultural aspects of this country's story, right up to the present".
John P. Holdren is director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy
